AA Cars is an exciting online car-buying platform created through a partnership between the AA and VCARS, launched in July 2013. This was the first major venture into the used car market for the AA, which is one of Britain's best-known and most trusted brands.
It has rapidly become one of the UK's top online used car portals, offering many tens of thousands of used cars ranging from rare classics to popular nearly-new models - and everything in between. Cars are offered for sale by thousands of dealers throughout the UK.
AA Cars aims to empower car buyers by presenting clear information about the vehicles they are considering and the dealers that are selling them, as well as offering security and peace of mind: a world away from the dodgy salesman practices that linger in classic comedy acts.
Every car comes with a free car history check. This shows whether the vehicle in question has ever been stolen; written off by an insurer, has been 'clocked' or otherwise interfered with. What's more, every buyer benefits from a year's roadside assistance (or an upgrade for existing AA members). Dealers can also offer AA Vehicle Inspections at a discounted rate.
According to AA/Populus research*, one in three people found the experience of buying a car 'stressful'. With the host of information and advice offered and an exceptionally easy search facility, buying a car on AA Cars is a straightforward and stress-free pleasure.* AA/Populus interviewed 22,194 AA members in December 2012.
The AA Cars website is powered by VCARS - which was launched in 1999 as the 'virtual car showroom'. It uses award-winning technology with a range of services for car dealers, helping them to move their stock quickly and effectively.
The relationship with the AA has provided additional investment in the platform which is one of the easiest to use - including a free text search facility that enables buyers to search for exactly what they are looking for - or if they aren't sure, using broader search terms.
The site also contains a host of fast-moving news for anyone with the remotest interest in cars while the 'Ask Edmund' column, hosted by AA president Edmund King, enables visitors to ask any question about motors and motoring that they want an answer to.
